GRID Logisitics plans to transform the conventional container terminal as we know it by integrating ship-train-truck between ports and inland destinations. Their vision sees the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach re-imagined into a holistic structure which hauls containers off ships simultaneously and onto two trains that each go to separate destinations. One will travel underground utilizing disused sewage networks and the other will take a conventional route, leaving trucks to travel the last mile from the feeder terminal to their required destinations.
